We're staying with the jumper. Most people program the frequency exactly once, so making it fancier isn't cost-effective.

Is that a push-on push-off button? If not, you'll have to hold it down through the entire frequency programming cycle.
 
Yup, even worse is when nobody bothers to change it at all... and your receiver (which you didn't change either...) keeps pointing you back to the flight line. I know people don't read the manual, but PLEASE change your frequency after you've made sure that it works.
 
For most "normal" launches, I don't usually have to reprogram any of my trackers, modules, etc. However, at "big" launches, I definitely have encountered the need to reprogram telemetry modules.

Instead of an expensive switch, I would be happy if the PGM short was handled by a 2-pin header like most of the other Eggtimer devices. That is a lot easier than trying to solder/desolder the pads.
