With all my tools out, and the kit pre-inventoried, it took me 45-50 minutes to do everything except the screw switch and pigtail.I would be curious to know how long it takes most folks to assemble these. Starting from a clean (I use that word loosely) workbench and needing to collect my iron, build mat, third hand, tweezers, etc., I built a Quark in about 1 1/2 hours the other night.
That doesn’t include any testing, just the soldering work.
And I agree, the 0805 components are tiny. I actually think the drivers on the Quark are just as difficult, just because of how small the pads are. The pads for the drivers on something like the Quantum are much more forgiving.
