Nah, that's the beauty of an Edmonds kit for me. No painting required! I kinda like the look of a balsa plane soaring above.

I usually use clear dope for that "finished" but "unfinished" look.

it depends on what you consider "finishing".......I dope/jap tissue my models .....add strength, very little weight plus it makes that easier to see...

I gave my Geminee Thunder a Blue Angels paint job. Then I built a second
pair and also gave them a Blue Angels paint job. Then I flew them together
in a "drag race". Four big Blue Angels gliders buzzing the field at the
same time.
