I was browsing rmr & found a very simple solution to adapting a D-powered kit to take Estes E engines. Where the engine hook is bent down at a 90 degree angle & goes into a slit in the MMT, bend it upward at a 90 degree angle. Use a slit piece of tubing to go over the outside of the MMT & let the 90 degree upward bend butt against it. Glue in place. I think you can visualize what I am saying.
I have a Big Betty & a Big Daddy that I am adapting for Es. Who says rmr isn't good for something?
If the bend breaks when you are bending it in the opposite direction, just bend up where it broke off.
Some fellow named Gary posted this on rmr. It's one of the best tips I've run across in quite some time.
