I don't mind at all. I was trying to hit a certain price point and simplicity with these so left off the canards and required slotting of nose cones, but on my larger one it flew the same with or without the canards as far as CG so you should be fine.

Thanks Frank! I really like the small ones. I think you are hitting a good price point for some guys that can try it and see if they like it and of course that leads them to the next level 😃👍 and keeping it simple! Kudos to you my Friend for putting out great products!!!!

Me-163s are always fun. I have a couple of the Hobbyking electric ARF RC versions with the 18mm rocket assist in the rear and one of the (slightly smaller) Klima foam ARF Me-163s designed for long burn 18mm D’s.

I actually did a little work on the small Klima Komet yesterday. It is likely to fly this summer.

That’s Awesome!! Well I just back from the flying field and flew the mini Valkyrie and it is a “BLAST” no puns intended it’s fast like the little X-15 but a slower decent had to increase the up trim by 8% I think I had a little nose heavy changed my battery closer to the RX and changed back to original settings the first landing touchdown 3 feet from me😃here’s a pic.

I have to give Frank another Kudos for another great flying kit 👍👍👍👍😃😃😃 He’s really got me hooked on these BG’s I did get out my PT-19 out and put two flights on it to see if could still fly 😜 I’m loving the BG’s Thanks to Frank and all guys on this site👍😃

I took it out today and put 4 flights on it. All the flights were beautiful in the blue NC sky it looked like the full scale at 20,000 feet very stable in glide and boost was straight up off the rail Awesome in both phases of flight. It is very easy to spot land 3 to 5 feet from were I stand 👍😃

Excellent!

Well, I now have a mini Valkyrie from Frank.

I have an idea for a very minor re-styling (adding a single part) and a different backstory for this nice little RC RG. More to come!

I hope your Valkyrie is more successful than the actual XB-70. Watch out for F-104’s getting too close!

Well, since mine is no longer a Valkyrie, no need to worry about F-104s….;)

Have always been a big fan of the XB-70. I did a profile XB-70 RCRG for E6 power bout 6 years ago. An excellent flyer. Pics attached.

When I was 10 years old in 1996, I was lucky enough to attend a special airshow at Carswell AFB that was celebrating the 20th anniversary of the USAF becoming a separate service from the US Army. The USAF had one of every single aircraft type in it’s inventory attending the airshow, including XB-70 AV2, the one later lost in the mid air collision with the F-104. This was the only time an XB-70 attended an event away from Edwards AFB. Will never forget seeing in on the ramp, plus seeing it depart overhead while we we driving away from Carswell.

When you think about how sparsely populated Edwards was at that time, folk who saw it in the air in Fort Worth could easily be the majority of those who ever saw an XB-70 in the air.

I've been fascinated with the Valkyrie all my life and am cordially envious of you right now. :D

I'm not sure what Tom is going to model with a single extra part, the rapier has a single stab....

In any case, I decided to slot my nose cone near the top and slide in a piece of .03 styrene for canards just for looks. I also decided to paint my nose cone, used Tamiya gloss white without primer, seemed to stick ok, but when I was applying decals I noticed if I tried to adjust them the paint was trying to pull up.

Maybe tamiya primer first and scuffing is the key.

Have one more color to add to the modified Valkyrie. Hope to post pics tomorrow.

This will be a fictional spaceplane, faintly based on an existing aircraft, but not an XB-70.

Frank, adding the canard does a lot for the Valkyrie!

Interesting

I know that canard looks good but from a kit perspective I have to do this by hand and it's just too risky to screw up nose cones trying to pre-cut the slot.

No complaint here. I absolutely understand and agree with how you produced the kit. Easy enough for someone to add the canard if they want it. I just like the look with the canard.

Zero doubt that you could make that cool looking model fly! Good areas and moments. Perhaps simplify the engine fairing on top a little to reduce drag. Canard is small enough to not be a problem.

I would not be surprised if Frank already has one designed and half built by now, after him seeing that pic yesterday....:)

How about a 3x24 mm cluster? :D
