Anyone know what the story is with Dr Rocket LDRS17 motor hardware?

I have a 54mm set Dr Rocket LDRS17, acquired off ebay a couple years ago. The cases are green.
I recently aquired a Dr Rocket LDRS19 29/360 case, serial number 17. Case appears to be annodized in sunburst. https://www.flickr.com/photos/bguff/sets/72157622546673069/

Was there a competition, drawing, etc? What is the story?

DR used to release limited edition colors for their cases at LDRS. I have a bunch of "Desert Fire" cases in 54mm. They are a red / yellow tie dye.

PS that looks to be XIX or LDRS 19

My bad. I mixed the serial number up with the LDRS number. Should be fixed in the original post now. Thanks,
Bob

I've seen some of these special Dr. Rocket motors and they were pretty cool looking.

They had a Millennium Edition for the year 2000 that were blue with a purple swirl. They were rather neat looking.;)

Unfortunately, I don't think Dr. Rocket is still in business.

thank u, next
The LDRS 17 commemorative hardware was, IIRC, the first year such hardware was produced. It was a dark green anodize with the LDRS 17 logo laser etched into the surface. I think millenium and desert fire were the last two sets of hardware anodized this way. What ever happened to Mike, anyway?
