Applied sanding sealer to nose and installed eyelet. Ready for the paint pile.
We're back! I was a bit burned out on building rockets and focused on gaming for a bit, but I got the bug again today and got sanding sealer on all the wood for Super Orbital Transport.

Wow, is the andromeda finished?
Andromeda's assembly is complete, except for parachute installation, which I usually do after finishing. It is currently in the "paint pile" with a few other rockets I built over the winter, waiting for it to be warm enough to paint.
Sanded all the wood parts for Super Orbital Transport smooth today. My arms are tired.
Finished assembling my transport today. Soooo much balsa.
Now I just have to assemble the orbiter. Oh look, more multipart fins….

See post #33. The difference between freshly sealed and sanded is not going to show up well in a picture anyway.
Some actual gluing is probably happening tonight.

What adhesive do you use for Goldfish?
Any glue will work but you have to completely encapsulate the goldfish, or it breaks off and just leaves whatever the glue is attached to behind.

Koi bonding is tricky. Apparently, the first step is gaining their trust.
If that doesn’t work out, plain ol’ fish paste is probably the best bet:

Started building up the wings and marked up the aft body tube.

I've been very negligent on this thread but stuff has been happening, albeit slowly due to my Legend of Zelda gaming kick.
I'm really not a fan of the slots for fitting all the stuff on the wings. It just makes another thing to fill in once it's time to start painting. My original orbital transport just had you measure and mark locations for the parts and it worked fine.

My gaming weaknesses are the Baldur's Gate saga, Diablo 2, and Star Fleet Command. Currently on BG 2, Throne of Baal.
I'm getting psyched up for Tears of the Kingdom releasing on Friday.

I'm also going on a two-week business trip on Monday and getting back on Memorial Day weekend, so I'm trying to get assembly completed before then and painting when I return for a launch on Sunday, June 4th.

Done assembling, except for recovery, which I usually do after paint. We'll be back with paint and Andromeda decals on Memorial Day weekend.
I was walking SOT outside to paint it when I looked at the slots on the wings and realized I still needed to fill them. Hopefully paint tomorrow.
Good job catching that in advance. I would probably have noticed only after the paint was already spraying, shrugged, gotten a mediocre result, and later wondered (as I often do) why my paint jobs always turn out as twenty-footers.
No pictures yet but SOT did get painted white over the weekend. I will be doing one more inspection this afternoon to make sure there are no non-white spots.
SOT needed some touch-up, mostly around the edges of the wings and fins.
