I'm looking for directional transmitter that will fin into a BT-20 (Maybe down to BT-50) and hand held directional receiver kit. Distance to transmitter isn't necessary, but would be nice.
I wouldn't have to reach more than 2 miles, and most cases a mile or less.
Not expensive (to me) which means under $100.

I envision a tube like module for the transmitter that uses watch batteries, or maybe a single AAA.
Something that would fit in a payload bay. ie; the Estes Hercules.
The receiver would use 4 AA batteries.
A screen about 2" round with a red dot focusing in the direction of the transmitter on the outer edge.
Small enough to fit into your shirt pocket.
Or, maybe a app for a cell phone and something you plug into the phone to receive the signal.
(Since I don't have a cell phone, I would prefer a separate receiver unit).
Something specifically, but not only for, Low Power Rockets.
Such as the Comanche-3 when launched on maximum engine sizes.

I know there are sonic beacons, and I have 2 transmitters from Estes that are suppose to be sonic.
But I've yet to hear them more than 100' away. And when using their listening device, I mostly hear wind noise.

If no one make such a thing, then perhaps I've given John at Jolly Logic a mission for a future project?
