The club canceled this weekend's launch and I'm itching to try out my Darkstar Jr, at least with a low-powered motor. However, it launches off rails and my launcher only has rods. I don't suppose there is any locally available product that could be pressed into service as a rail for a trial launch?

Aluminum angle mounted to square tubing works.

If you live near a jobber like this, it's pretty common on shelves.

Fastenal or grainger may have 10/10 rail. If one is close to you. For me that's not the case.

Slot a piece of square tubing? If you have a way to do that.

Coyote's post looks promising.

For just one test flight, could I get away with just wrapping tape around a launch lug and sending it up on a 1/4" rod?

I did that very thing last week. As long as you are launching and MPR motor, you should be fine.

@Mikey - You are correct, it is in stock at my local Grainger, $23 for a 6' section. Thanks!
