I came across an unusual NIKE M-5 Booster fin unit ( Pic Below ).

Does anyone have additional data or information about this ?

Thanks, in advance !

This is the original Wallops/University of Michigan fin unit for the first flights of the Nike Cajun. The rod in the foreground holds adjacent fins together, hinge-style. The nike booster itself keeps them from flopping parallelogram-style.

Were all of these pieces somewhat exposed in the finished rocket? After this thread popped up I looked through all of the Nike photos I had saved and nothing looked like this, but some looked like there was a piece of curved sheet metal shroud over this area.

The Cajun Fins . . . and Motor dimensions.

Interesting... This is the Nike Cajun at Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian in VA. I wonder if there is a thin walled can over the units depicted above. Note, it looks like two pieces are screwed together... And look at the cajun fins, a similar joint there, clearly visible.
