Dunno if theres a show like this over the pond, but over here we've got an incledibally long running radio show called "Desert Island Discs". The idea is that a famous person has to decide on what 10 songs/tunes would take with them, if they were stranded on a desert island.

So ... what 10 tunes would you take with you, if you were stranded on a Desert Island?

Mine:
  • The Specials - Ghost Town (12")
  • The Clash - (White Man) in Hammersmith Palais
  • Dr Alimantado - Born for a purpose
  • The Who - I can see for miles
  • Junior Murvin - Police and Thieves
  • The Small Faces - Lazy Sunday Afternoon
  • Joe Strummer & Johnny Cash - Redemtion Song
  • Stiff Little Fingers - Johnny Was
  • Adge Cutler and The Wurzels - Vertute et Industrial
  • John Otway - Beware of the Flowers ('cos I'm sure they're gonna get you - yeah)

Just off the top of my head:

Rush - 2112 (it's 20 minutes long!)
Supertramp - The Logical Song
Rush - The Razor's Edge
Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond
Thin Lizzy - The Cowboy Song
Rush - La Villa Stratinago
Rush - Totem
Rush - The Spirit of Radio (live version from Different Stages)
Roger Waters - 4:50 A.M. Go Fishing
Birdland - Buddy Rich Band version

This list would look completley different tomorrow.

By the way, What is the point in having all these songs if you've nothing to play them on?

Good point!

I forgot to mention that you have one of those old wind-up gramophones to play them on. You also get a copy of the Bible, and a book of your choice, in the radio prog.

Hmmmmm.......

Only 10 songs?

"End of the Line" - Travelling Wilburys
"Pigs (3 different ones)" - Pink Floyd
"Remedy" - The Black Crowes
"Back on the Train" - Phish
"Bridge of Sighs" - Robin Trower
"Fearless" - Pink Floyd
"Mother" - Pink Floyd
"All Down the Line" - The Rolling Stones
"Dance Little Sister" - The Rolling Stones
"Margarita" - Travelling Wilburys

That sure is a tough question. Those 10 come to mind. I might change my mind later.
