Working on my Delta II with a fairing that splits upon ejection charge. The chute will be in the fairing. I'm going to port the charge up a BT 20 tube from the motor mount. The coupler fits on a BT60 tube. 3D printing it all now.

Parts running. New SLA resin blend. Should be pretty impact proof. IMG_20200714_194039528.jpg

Duct from the motor block and coupler is in. The fairing is running again. Added some ribs to stiffen things up. IMG_20200715_120910093.jpgIMG_20200715_120920788.jpgIMG_20200715_120957085.jpg

Much better. I need to come up with an elegant way to clip the nose closed. Working that now. IMG_20200716_074045002.jpgIMG_20200716_074049915.jpgIMG_20200716_074107323.jpg

Ok ready for paint. I got my solution to keeping the two halves pinned at the nose yet still hinge and come loose. Simple pin hinge mechanism. It looks kinda goofy but allows for the fairing to pop off and split. The chute will be big and packed kinda loose to add some preload to the fairing halves to encourage separation. I think it will work. IMG_20200716_183850384.jpgIMG_20200716_183855456.jpgIMG_20200716_183906943.jpgIMG_20200716_183913937.jpgIMG_20200716_183935998.jpg
