Like the header says. I am looking for a high res(ish) copy of the old Estes Gyroc decals? My son and I made a Tazz and love it and want to make a 2nd but decorate in the style of the vintage Gyroc.
I did email Chris at oddlrockets a couple months ago as that is the only google lead I had but never heard back.
Anyone out there have this electronic gem in their stash?
Thanks!

eRockets lists the decals for the Gyroc that was kitted by Semroc. I think that the Semroc version was smaller so these may not work, but perhaps you can scan the image and then enlarge for printing on decal paper?

This was a topic years back on YORF, and the consensus was that the kit never actually included a decal sheet, but rather than builders were using decals from other Estes kits to get that look: https://www.oldrocketforum.com/showthread.php?t=2239

JimZ probably has the decal sheet on his site. You can import into Corel Draw, send it to the bottom layer and lock it, and the trace a vector image over top. Now you will have a high quality vector graphic file that can be scaled as needed.

Don't forget to add links for those who might not know where to go...

At one point Estes used to sell generic decal sets (such as those seen on pg 136 of the 1971 catalog), and the images from JimZ's site look to be using some of those.

Thanks everyone.
I may try and clean these low res ones up. Or Hey, not much there, maybe just layup my own version. Until then check out my sons textbook Tazz flight.

The Semroc Gyroc is the same size as the original, but it uses a BT-5 motor tube (13mm motors) so as to implement a rear-eject, streamer recovered pod instead of just spitting the 18mm motor as the original does. This is similar to — but actually the precursor to — how this is done on the the essentially upscale Gyroc that the Tazz is.

Semroc Gyroc on the left, BMS Gyroc clone, which is a very faithful reproduction of the original K-24 Gyroc on the right.

The nose cone for the shuttle/orbiter in the new Super Orbital Transport is a perfect BT-50-sized upscale BNC-20B and so would make it possible to make a Tazz look MUCH closer to the original Gyroc....but of course that nose cone can't be had separately — at least not now.
