I just finished this custom launch pad, I have been working on this for about three years off and on. Their are more upgrades I am going to add, such as a countdown timer, nav lights, alarm and some other details. It is a 1/4" rod on the one side and a 1010 rail not he other, which drops for easy access to load the rocket. Very solid and the legs are removable. Legs extensions can be either staked or sand bagged. I still need to add a blast plate to the rail.
I really enjoyed working on this project, seeing it all come together. I really was challenged to use my imagination and thought process for the rod base. I guess if I had to do it again, it would take me not nearly that long and modify some things for a more professional look.
