Custom Laser Cut Rings and Fins

Hello everyone, Just wanted to share a resource I found out there for custom laser cutting of centering rings, baffles and fins. Pololu Robotics & Electronics in Los Vegas offers a custom laser cutting service using various materials from balsa wood, baltic birch plywood, plastics and aluminum to name just a few. See website for exact materials available. Arthur Rodriguez is your point of contact (702) 262-6648; he is very knowledgeable and capable of fulfilling your model rocketry needs. You'll need to make a computer rendering with a vector graphic program like CorelDraw or a CAD drawing of your design and submit it. Arthur will convert your rendering to an SVG file and production turnaround is about a week. My rings and fins were all cut out of 1/8" baltic birch plywood. Make sure if you order fins that you specify that the leading edge must run with the grain of the wood. Other projects on the drawing board is an ejection baffle and plugs for body tube couplers to make an ejection piston. Reach for the stars and beyond everyone!
