Looks like the CTI website got a revamp for the first time in something like 20 years. I hope thus means a renewed focus on the hobby market and that supply of reloads will go up in the future.
Interesting. It looks like the update happened today, as I checked a few hours ago and it was the old website. Now it's all new and spiffy.

Would be even better if it meant Vmax was coming back!!
That's definitely not happening. From what I understand the CTI fire happened when processing Vmax propellant. Afterwards they decided that it wasn't worth the increased risk to make it for the hobby market. I'm hopeful that they'll improve supply and reliability for hobby motors, but I doubt they'll reverse a decision made on the grounds of safety.

I did note that AMW is no longer listed as a dealer
I am not sure if Moto-Joe was listed before, but they are not listed now.

Catalogs by diameter family. Woot!

If they update them, that would be a good sign - those catalogs are from 2010. Both the catalogs and the product listings still include the VMax motors, for example. I am encouraged by the effort to update their website UI/UX, but the content does not appear to be changed yet. Still, a sign of life!

I'll go ahead and be the old man shaking his fist at clouds. :D

I liked the old layout better, though I need to look more closely at the catalogs by diameter pages. It's probably just a matter of getting used to the new setups. On the other hand, until they have new product, there won't be much need to go to the web page to get used to it.

I realize this sounds really cranky. I would love for CTI to be back in the hobby business--I would go back to them in a heartbeat. Until they are back and have addressed the significant quality issues in the 38mm and 54mm lines, I just can't get my hopes up.

I wish they would display a list. All I get is a map, and I'm wondering if it updates itself when you scroll it, as there are no dealers shown west of Colorado. A list would help those of us that would order on-line.

Hans.

There really isn't any new content on the new website. In fact, there's still the original line of propellants and reloads. The only conclusion is that they hired or contracted a website developer!

There's still only one person at CTI who has the authority to redirect efforts for QC and production back to the hobby product line. Mr. C was quite unaware of the number of 38/54 catos until recently. I haven't heard of anything new happening, they are still overwhelmed with the commercial/military side.

You mean Mrs. "C" can't help either? Richie's mom? 🤣

Sorry but "Mr. C" takes me back to that old TV show...

You are correct, same old stuff new fancy packaging.

I will not speak for Anthony, but he is very aware of everything going on across the board. It is only my opinion that he has a distaste for the "hobby" side of the buisness that is less then 10 percent of CTI's yearly revenue. As I said back on post 1309, and as you have mentioned, Anthony is working in Arizona doing military contract work.

You may want to check your source of information. 😉

Hans.
I had to laugh when I seen Science Education Center listed over in western Kansas on the map when he is located in Wichita, and last time I asked he was not selling CTI.

This would be awsome that I am wrong!!!
In msg #1309 you said Nevada, now you said Arizona. CTI has their commercial US mixing plant at Spaceport America in New Mexico. (Say "Southwest" and it can't be wrong!) Anthony visits but doesn't "work" there. He lives in Florida.

Their profit from the hobby/HPR line is closer to zero than 10% of their overall business. They make millions of bullets per day, for example. http://www.cesaronitech.com/

Since being overwhelmed by commercial productions, just about the only thing CTI has made are the larger HPR motors, such as O3400's and 98XL hardware, which have a commercial overlap.

Not only have HPR users given up on CTI, but HPR dealers have as well. Three strikes you're out? No availability, QC problems, and poor warrantee support. Dealers have been eating the loss of replacing reloads when CTI doesn't have stock to replace them.

John your right , I misspoke. Thank you for the correction and information.

Not to mention what the proposed 25% tariff on Canadian goods is going to do to CTI prices...

Well, it would be an interesting discussion if CTI had products to sell, but, as of now, there is basically zero supply of hobby goods moving into the US, so tariffs or no tariffs, the impact is currently 0.0%

It would be like discussing how the proposed 25% tariff is going to affect the Canadian pineapple prices.

If they quit making reloads, can you use other brands that will work in the case?

75mm and 98mm cases (except the 6G XLs) are cross load compatible with Aerotech. Loki currently makes one reload that is designed for the CTI 98mm 6G XL, but not sure if he is planning to make any more loads compatible in the future.

For 54mm and below, you are pretty much out of luck, as far as I know.
