Coupling for two stage rockets

I'm planning a two stage design and was having trouble working out the coupling section in a 3" diameter airframe for High power... Will fly it on 2 I motors with a timer air started sustainer.

Are there any tips that show how you stage high power rockets sections together. I presume it's somewhat different from BP...

Any help would get me on track...
