The saucer was from a microwaveable Pot Pie plate. Plate said “for single use only.” I’ve never been one to color inside the lines, so I thought it could be repurposed.

“Da Bomb” is finally in paint. Not sure how long the paint is gonna last, the plastic is still flexible, and I suspect the paint will eventually peel off. @Funkworks suggested that I tone down the threat level in case this lands in someone’s backyard (sort of like @neil_w and @rklapp issue with BioHazard), so I added a line under “HIGH EXPLOSIVE”. I thought the parachute from the Happy Birthday ballon was a nice touch.

The box fin arrangement continues to amaze me. About 1/4 roll froml launch to apogee. I am really surprised how stable the rockets are from a roll perspective.

Makes for nice camera platform at least for the upward ride.

Those are two massively awesome flights. Congratulations! The saucer flew better than my Quinstar. When's the 24mm version? I've thought about converting the Quinstar to 24mm (just need to take out the block and tube), but seems cruel. Maybe I will someday if I start feeling sadistic.

As I said, if you lose the rocket, just follow the fire truck sirens. :)

Two good flights, I liked how the saucer kept wiggling its way on up. And Da Bomb was very nice and straight.
Yeah, I don’t really know. I was really pleased with the altitude and flight, and as you know, squirrelly flights are somewhat of my trademark outside of the box fin models, which fly like they are on rails. I am guessing the motor mount is slightly off or the folds of the plate or a tich off. When it happens with one of my models, which are not altitude record seekers anyway, I consider it more an entertaining effect than a defect.

Same thing with my motor eject models. Since I have added a streamer , I just call them Helicopter or Air brake Bombers and try to describe it as a plus rather than a negative.

I agree, it is a feature. Maybe it is something like vortex shedding.

Makes each launch that much more of a spectacle. I'm all for spectacles.

When's the 24mm version?

This was kind of a whim. I am mildly curious if a 24mm would go much higher (more power equals more acceleration equals more drag) probly would, but this was plenty high for me. I was happy it didn’t arc over. Although it was a nearly zero wind day, may not have done so well with 5-10 winds.

Epic models and flights! Love the line you added below 'high explosive'.:D:clapping:
