My partner at work is now self-isolating with symptoms. I feel fine and have been asymptomatic.

The Chinese let this virus get out and failed to let anyone know for almost a month so any death from this virus is on their hands (sorry not sorry). You guys do realize masks don’t have any effect unless you actually have it, and even then it’s a low rate of effect. Also unless the stuff people are using kills viruses, it will have no effect. Antibacterial is not antivirus. Bleach is really the only thing that can kill it.

Surgical masks are of limited use to prevent infections unless you are concerned about you infecting someone else. Social distancing works better.

Here is a neat piece showing a very short 3D model if a patient's lungs created by CT scans of his chest. It shows areas where the the virus has damaged lung cells. Areas affected won't exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide effectively, so the healthy parts of the lungs need to make up the difference. As more lung tissue gets damaged, the less gasses get exchanged causing other organ systems to fail.

Are you saying that Chinese officials lied to the public about the virus, resulting in loss of life? If that’s true, then they definitely bear responsibility for those deaths! Despicable! Hold them accountable!

Can you think of any other officials of any other governments who have been downplaying the deadliness of this virus? Any government officials calling it a hoax? Anyone saying it’s no worse than a normal flu? Anyone saying it’s completely under control? Anyone calling it over-hyped or fake news? Anyone saying it will just disappear like magic? Anyone saying the cure is worse than the disease? Because if there are any such people in any other governments besides the Chinese, then those government officials bear as much responsibility as the Chinese officials who told the same lies. The blood is on their hands. They will be held accountable.

My granddaughter made it back from school in Ireland last night. I haven't heard the details, but apparently she didn't have much trouble traveling. Aer Lingus from Dublin to Boston, Boston to Portland, and Portland to Boise. I think she had a lot more trouble getting home last summer.

So much wrong here but I will focus one thing: soap and water works well to deactivate the virus. Wash hands and wipe down surfaces.

Am in a county so far with 0 cases. Administration asked me if I'm comfortable running a ventilator. I told'em it's been awhile but I can get by. This is getting serious.

According to the Worldometer site I’ve been checking, the US has more cases today than any other country. About 83,000 cases here now, and about 15,000 of those are new in the last 24 hours.

I think China probably is under reporting. I’m not sure it’s an order of magnitude, but who knows?

Hmm, do you think? I am 100% certain the China data is unreliable.

Well if you are going to all the bother of detaining and expelling reporters to under report, you under report big.

The probability that China, or the CCP, was able to go from the trajectory that they were on, to zero overnight, is about the same chance of me launching my Aerotech Arreaux to LEO.

Yep. I’m also certain we have no real data from Russia. Iran is very bad, and is probably even worse than they say.
