Does anyone else here listen to Coast to Coast AM? I started listening almost as a joke but it really grew on me. Now I listen every night. Some of the people who call are kind of weird but I like it all the same. It's on right now. Is anyone else listening?

I think Art Bell "retired" not that long ago and handed it over to some other nutcracker.

Don't get me wrong - I find that radio show very entertaining on the rare occasion that I'm awake at that time and even more rare occasion that I'm sober enough to think, "Hey, let's check out the UFO show!"

"East of the Rockies, you're on the air"!!

Love it!

Art retired about a year or so ago, and turned it over to George Norey (Norie?). Although, Art now fills in once in a while and does weekends.

I was a huge fan when Art Bell was the host. Over the past several years, he was in and out as the host. Now it is mainly that new guy. Nothing beat Art Bell when I worked night shift!

I heard a rumor that Art wanted to come back, but since a contract was signed with the new guy, he could only do weekends. Dunno if it is true or not. But boy was Art great around Y2K time! I was so close to ordering the year supply of emergency food and the C. Crane radio.

Keep watching the skies!

Yeah I preferred Art but George Norrie is growing on me. And Art does appear from time to time when I'm able to listen. As much as I've resisted mentioning my musical adventures at the risk of stretching the forums intentions...this IS the coffee house. Below is a link to some of my music. Art fans, scroll down to the song "Radio Art" and check it out. Its filled with Art Bell soundbytes. BTW I don't want to give away too much but I am working on a piece of music made specially for you guys and girls which I intend to premiere here at the forum if the mods are okely dokely with it.

I listened to it a few times, but WOW that stuff is just too far out there for me.

I have followed Art for a few years. Since I tend to stay up late most nights, I usually have the CC radio on from about 1-2AM till I fall asleep.

A few years ago, he left due to a problem he was having in his personal life. I won't divulge it here, but I admire the guy for taking the time off to support his family through a tough time. Now he just does weekends and once in a while he fills in during the week.

Most of the topics are out there but as Fore Check said, it is entertaining. Probably one of the most listened to late night radio programs on the planet.

How do you like the CC Radio? I have a Grundig S350 and it's pretty good. At night, I can pull in AM stations from as far away as Baton Rouge.

I have heard the future of radio and it is called SATELLITE RADIO.

My wife was so tired of hearing me complain about the continual lameness of traditional broadcast radio for so long that she gave me my Christmas present--a Sirius Sportster tuner with car kit, 2 weeks early :D :D

Installed it this morning & it blows me away how much better the quality (audio-wise & song/genre selection-wise) is... Almost makes me want to take a road trip just to put it through its paces :p

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program... ;)

I bought both and did side by side tests. The CC Radio won and I sen tthe other back. I think it has to be one of the best AM radions made although it also comes with pretty stiff price...for an AM radio that is. It also gets weather, Some VHF and FM. It acts as clock radio in my house but I'm think of adding another for the basement. Sick of transporting it back and forth.:D
