We have a launch scheduled for 19 November 2016 in Amesbury. This will include our annual Night Launch after our usual launch. Now that we're back on Standard Time, we may end earlier than 4 PM but will then set up by the roadway for our Night Launch. Bring your lighted rockets (LED and other bulb-like light sources work best; glow sticks can't be seen very well at altitude) and keep them to low-and mid-power. Try to keep things under 1000 feet so your recovery will be easier.

Fliskits (in the guise of Jim Flis) and Jason from AMWProX will be on the field so if you need anything, please contact them ahead of time to be sure it will be on hand.

As a reminder, we instituted new flying restrictions toward the end of last season. We now limit the largest motor to J-impulse. We have to be very careful about keeping all rockets recoveries on the field. We've added the Windyty link to the homepage of the website so you can see a good prediction of wind directions at various levels at the field. If the wind is moving in its usual direction, toward the parking lot, the rockets have the best chance to stay in friendly areas. If the wind is coming from the eastern quadrant, we will need to shut down all high-power launches and limit model rocket launches to an altitude of 1000 feet or less. This is per an agreement we’ve made with National Grid and the Amesbury Fire Department.

Please see the thread in the CMASS forum to sign up for one or more of the volunteer opportunities available for this launch.

If you're feeling particularly generous, the Amesbury Police Department is holding their "Fill A Cruiser with Food" drive on the day of our launch. If you'd like to donate to a food drive during this Thanksgiving season, you can drop off your non-perishable donations between 9 AM and 3 PM at the Stop & Shop plaza on Route 110 near I-95.
