We have a launch scheduled for 15 October 2016 in Amesbury. We have asked permission to use the field and are waiting to hear from the fire department. If we are allowed to fly, this will only be our second launch in Amesbury this year.
Fliskits and AMWProX will be on the field so if you need anything, please contact them ahead of time to be sure it will be on hand.
As a reminder, we instituted new flying restrictions toward the end of last season. We now limit the largest motor to J-impulse. We have to be very careful about keeping all rockets recoveries on the field. We've added the Windyty link to the homepage of the website so you can see a good prediction of wind directions at various levels at the field. If the wind is moving in its usual direction, toward the parking lot, the rockets have the best chance to stay in friendly areas. If the wind is coming from the eastern quadrant, we will need to shut down all high-power launches and limit model rocket launches to an altitude of 1000 feet or less. This is per an agreement weve made with National Grid and the Amesbury Fire Department.
Please see the thread in the CMASS forum to sign up for one or more of the volunteer opportunities available for this launch.
