We have a launch scheduled for 05 November 2016 in Amesbury.

Fliskits and AMWProX will be on the field so if you need anything, please contact them ahead of time to be sure it will be on hand.

As a reminder, we instituted new flying restrictions toward the end of last season. We now limit the largest motor to J-impulse. We have to be very careful about keeping all rockets recoveries on the field. We've added the Windyty link to the homepage of the website so you can see a good prediction of wind directions at various levels at the field. If the wind is moving in its usual direction, toward the parking lot, the rockets have the best chance to stay in friendly areas. If the wind is coming from the eastern quadrant, we will need to shut down all high-power launches and limit model rocket launches to an altitude of 1000 feet or less. This is per an agreement we’ve made with National Grid and the Amesbury Fire Department.

Please see the thread in the CMASS forum to sign up for one or more of the volunteer opportunities available for this launch.

Our launch is all set for Saturday, 05 November, but there are a couple of traffic issue that may impact some members coming to Amesbury. The closest is possible traffic delays on I-495 in Amesbury due to road construction at Exit 55 (Rt 110) in both directions. If traveling North I-495 exit early at Exit 53 Merrimac (Broad St) and take Rt 110 to Amesbury. May also affect I-95 travelers who exit I-95 at Salisbury (I-495 or Rt 110). Check traffic online maps.google.com / allow extra time / seek alternate route. A little further south, all rocketeers traveling up Rt 128 from south of Needham/Newton this weekend, be aware the bridge over Highland Ave. in Needham is going to be demolished this Saturday. All Rt 128 traffic, north and south, is going to be rerouted around that overpass. Adjust your schedules and routes to account for these changes.
