Working on my first rocket with a five motor cluster.
24mm center and 4 18mm.
Will be able to fly on one or all 5.
My question is the center 24mm will be attached to a long motor tube for the ejection charge
what happens to the ejection charge on the other 4 motors that just discharge into the body tube?
Or are there motors in 18mm which do not have a ejection charge.

You can use -0 booster motors for the outboards and plug the top end of the motor with some wadding. I recommend taping it in. This is pretty much mandatory with a cluster using -0 motors... if you don't plug it and one of the motors doesn't light, the ejection gases and particles might come back and light the unfired motor from the ejection end... that would be bad.

You can also duct the 18mm tubes into the 24mm tube and use long delay 18mm motors. If you use only the 24mm motor, you'd have to plug the empty 18mm tubes. Using -0 motors and plugging the top or long delay motors and plugging empty tubes when not fully loaded is a 50/50 kinda thing. Pick which way works better for you.
