I revived my ideas for clip standoffs so the clips are less likely to catch the tail after having that trouble at a Swinger launch yesterday. The wire clip is based on an idea from around 20 years ago. The first standoff is based on the one in the Estes Tercel kit. The second standoff is my own contrivance. The rod and clips are supposed to pivot down and away after the engine fires. It was inspired by half remembered old films of the umbilical tower falling away in Mercury Redstone and Soviet launches. I can upload the stl files if anybody wants to make these.
OTOH, I could design more Silver Hawk type gliders....
