Hi,

I recently came across a reference to plans or build description for an "Eye in the Sky - Cineroc HD" rocket, or maybe it's just a camera payload module. The plan is by a Mario Perdue and is published in his 2010 book Seize the Sky: A Builder's Guide to Model Rocketry. It also evidently appeared in the Sept/Oct 2008 volume of Launch magazine.

For any who have seen the plans, I wonder if you consider them worth tracking down, for someone who is rather interested in camera rockets and this sort of hobby aerial photography. Or if the book has other content that you found interesting or inspiring.

Thanks!

You sir, need to talk to K'tesh.

I'm new to the forum but I believe he has had extensive research into Cineroc/Camroc and attempts to resurrect it.

Oh, we've talked...

He needs to get me a copy of that article. I think I've seen it before somewhere, but I can't remember where or when I saw it.

No luck as yet finding the article/plans online in pdf or other form. The extensive greater Boston library system does not carry either the book or the periodical. Amazon reviewers suggest to me that the book printing is not great and that the author does not necessarily specify how to build each model, but may instead simply describe it in general terms. So not sure if I want to spring for a copy just yet. Any further information out there on the book or plans is appreciated.

Hey, well done and thanks! You got 4 of the 6 pages!

First impressions: ugly looking shroud, typo error in the first sentence, "racketeers". Bot overall and interesting design.

Did about 15 minutes worth of web-sleuthing. In the book forward, he talks about the book projects being a compilation of stuff he did for LAUNCH magazine (plus extra stuff) which turned up this:

and this:

and this:

The book looks interesting to me, if a little dated with some things (like, video camera's...). I may pick it up at some point.
