I watched a Youtube Video last evening about the Chrysler SERV, an interesting take on SSTO that would have come after Apollo, but instead we got the Space Shuttle. Has anyone tried a model of this? It would be a bit challenging to fabricate without some 3D printed parts, but perhaps with enough scrap balsa, I might give it a go after a few other builds I've got in my notebook.

Holy Schnikeys! Think of the thrust it would take to get that into orbit! 90 feet in diameter... that is Huge! (For comparison, the Apollo capsule base diameter was 21 ft 8 in. and the largest diameter of the Saturn V was about 52 ft.)

Looks like an ideal candidate for a foam model... nice and light... with a cluster of BP motors to overcome the drag. Maybe rear eject?

Cool, thanks for posting this @techrat
