Do you think these meet the admittedly highly paranoid (i.e., to my knowledge not based upon any previous accidents experienced despite many thousands of "igniters" mailed over the years) U.S. regulatory requirements, especially those which the hobby rocketry manufacturers are now required to meet with their "starters"? Somehow, I doubt it.

The Chinese wireless remote firing units these are intended to be used with ignite them with 6V from 4 AAs. Those wireless firing units of many kinds are also available on eBay and from the very little tech info I found about them in the eBay ads appear to be using a frequency which is not authorized for that use in the US.

Electric Igniter E-match 100 pcs/lot 0.3M (11.8") - $16.40 shipped (from China) - 333 sold

Oh, look, here's a US based seller:

E-match+100pcs/lot 11.81in For Fireworks Firing System Electric Igniters display - $19.85 shipped - 2,109 sold

Expedited shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air) available on those, too! I know for certain that that air shipment is a big no-no.

I use them for ejection charges, never a failure. I have no idea how legal to ship to USA. They have probably shipped millions!

Nowhere in the OP did he ask if they are reliable. He asked if they are ATF-regulated and legal to ship. The answers are yes and no, in order.

It's a pretty simple answer for as many threads as there are.

Q: Are they regulated?
A: Yes

Q: Are they legal to ship?
A: No

Q: Should I use them anyway?
A: Up to you!

Q: Do they work?
A: Yes

Let's move on.

Have them shipped to your mother-in-law's address. Now it's not your problem. ;)
