Landing on Perth would not be good. Landing on Byron might reduce the number of Hemsworths per hectare, which would be nice.

Because a rocket falling from the sky is small potatoes compared to all of the other ways Australia tries to kill you!

Whatever they want, since we are not letting them play with us on ISS.
I would guess it is, primarily, prep for the announced China + Russia (Chisian?) lunar station.

I have just been all over Yahoo and can't find a single news story about this incoming Chinese booster.
Has it already reentered and nobody bother to tell anyone?

I remember when the ISS was first being built and all the hype about the science that would be performed and all the possibilities for new_______ fill in the blank.
About the only thing we have really learned is the humans do poorly in zero/micro gravity environments and there's not much we can do about it.
This doesn't bode well for manned missions to Mars.

Update: It appears to be coming down late Saturday early Sunday with a 99.99% probability of hitting Earth.

If I'm reading the tracking plot right, it passes over the East cost of the US around midnight local time, which means we haven't yet ruled out the possibility that Elon Musk gets hit by falling space debris while on live television.

Looks like it will most likely come down over the Indian Ocean in a couple hours:

The perigee is on the southern hemisphere, as can be seen on the highlighted ground tracks, so I guess it will be really unlikely to come down anywhere near the US, even if the prediction is off by a couple orbits.

OK, Thanks, I see now. I think I'll go back and look at the launch. Launch is spectacular with clear skies. Escape tower jettison is visible. The inside of the Chinese space capsule is huge.
