Chat Stats?

We have a stat on the home page for how many registered users and guests are currently browsing the boards.

How about a stat to show how many users are in chat?

I think this has already been covered....too lazy to look it up.

I think it boils down to the fact that the chat is IRC based, not HTTP that we use to browse the web. There would have to be some 'robot' always logged into the IRC channel, write the current number of users to a file, and then have that file parsed and displayed on the webpage. Not an easy task.
