A Semroc Thunder Bee. A quick, easy and satisfying build.

I raided the recycle bin again to make a tall 24mm D powered rocket inspired by Thunder ROC. This one is a little taller than me at six feet now. I used the Thunder ROC fin pattern from the plans and made the nose cone from cardstock using the 18mm Project Paper thread template scaled up. This long fellow has a custom set of twist lock couplers made from the t.p. roll tubes to make it break apart and easier to fit in the trunk of the car. I had some paint leftover from my recent Asteroid Hunter, the colors are called Almond and Merlot, a good combination of colors and flavors. I was thinking about making a custom decal for this one and calling it NORTHERN BOUNTY and will try to incorporate the logos from those brands of paper, although these were all actually COSTCO Kirkland brand.

Should make a nice flight on a D12-3 or -5. The tube spirals might not be too pretty, but what do you expect from paper towel rolls? I could have prepped the tubes a little more, but just want to throw this together as a proof of concept. The Viking is for size comparison.
