Hi everyone. Does anyone know if CAR is still active? Is there any benefit for a Canadian to join NAR?

Absolutely! We have launches throughout the country, a handful of local competitions, quite a few clubs...I can't speak to the benefit of NAR in Canada, just that overall it would be a larger group. CAR has done a lot of work with Transport Canada in terms of regulations in Canada and insures launches in Canada. Visit https://www.canadianrocketry.org for more!

I'm in Surrey BC. I emailed a membership form a little over a week ago and haven't heard back. I sent a "follow up" email and haven't heard back from that either. I'd like to join and be a part of it.

Hey Maniak I have received your membership application, been busy with some other CAR/ACF things and left membership processing to the side. I have not received the second note though. I will be processing memberships later this week.

Depends on what & where you fly.

I fly out of the US. (1 hr drive) so I'm NAR..
My "local" club (Quebec) seems to launch only 4-6 times a year..
My next "local" club is Ottawa, and is TRA.. (and has a very limited HPR ceiling..)
After that, I'm driving out to Toronto or Manitoba..


Looking at the NAR site, there area few clubs in Washington, one of which is in Bellingham..

And yes, you can bring rockets & motors across the border. (there are limits though)

Ya, by the looks of it the BC rocketry group seems to have dissolved, unless they're on facebook somewhere...maybe you can help a couple guys resurrect it!

I think the second email was sent to Greg D, it was just a "have you received my membership" kind of email. Yes I received your email on processing.

I would be up for that for sure. I found Fraser Valley Rocketry club recently but just missed their last launch date.

Cool, looked them up on facebook and they seem to be active! From some people I see in the pictures, you have a lot of experience there to help you in a high power journey.

Yes you can email a photo of the form and do an etransfer to the "memberships" address listed in the CAR/ACF membership form. Only one email transaction has happened through CARWeb in the last few days and was to our BC provincial rep. Otherwise not sure where you sent the query email.
