My team and I are going to TARC Nationals in two weeks, and I was wondering if I would be able to either put my rocket in either a carry-on or checked in luggage. I don't want to ship the rockets as I don't want the rockets to get damaged along the route.

Yes. I would recommend carrying on so they aren’t handled by baggage apes. TSA didn’t even look in our rocket or range boxes last time we went to nationals. You probably should have them boxed up with the fin can and nose section separated.

Yes, I have flown all over domestic and international, but if you have any electronics i would put those in carry on.

Motors/re-loads are a No-no.

I checked two large (reinforced and well protected) boxes full of rockets all the way from PDX to China with no problem. Mind you, I didn't carry any propellant with me.
