Here is a picture of the first lower fin drying.

So many Fin Fillets to dry!...."Not that I am complaining"

While the Fill-n-Finish dries, I decided to work on the upper section. Here is the first picture of my homemade PVC rig holding the top section stationary. The bottom section is in the front drying. Yes, that is an ESTES Fin Alignment guide holding the fin. Darn useful gadget!

Karl,

I was going to ask if that was a Quickburst rocket rack, but I guess not, huh?

Thanks Jim.

This project is such a change from ESTES kits. I am having a blast with it.

Onward…The upper fin set is now drying. I will let it set overnight for a complete dry before I start with the Upper Fin Strakes. Hopefully the lower section will have it’s Motor Mount tube fill-n-finish dry enough to start working on the lower fin section.

No rush though…that leads to errors.

You know, I never understood until I saw that picture just how the Estes fin alignment guide was supposed to work. I've never seen one in person or in use before. So, thanks!

So, Karl, how is this coming out??? :)

I got bogged down on all of the sanding.

I guess I need to be less of a slacker and get back on it!

Nope. I borrowed the idea and built mine from PVC pipe.

Handy Tool!

I got her ready for my Club's January Launch! I did not get any fire pics, but she flew well. Cool to see the three tongues of flame erupt from her aft section.

I will post more pics when I finish the Detail painting.

BTW...many Positive comments at the launch. You do good work Jim
