My new book, "A Guide To Staging High Power Rockets" is now in print! It is part of the Extreme Rocketry book series published by Rocketeer Media, and you can order it on their website:

https://secure.mcneely.net/extreme/extremestore.html

The book is illustrated with numerous drawings and photos and has chapters on inline staging, parallel staging, and parasite staging. It's not just for high power flyers either -- the information and techniques in this book can also be applied to mid-power rockets flying on E, F or G motors.

Coming soon: "A Guide To Rocket Aerial Photography"!

Could you give us a bit of detail of the techniques covered? For both books?

Ray, is there a more detailed description of the book anywhere? The extreme rocketry site doesn't seem to have any pictures of the book, or how many pages it contains.

Do you know anything about that other book listed on their site: "Vertical Trajectory Systems?" It doesn't say who wrote it, or what it is about.

The book is 20 pages long, with four chapters: Introduction, Inline Staging, Parallel Staging, and Parasite Staging. The introductory chapter explains the differences between traditional modroc staging and staging with composite motors; it also discusses the pros and cons of ignition methods, G-switches, pull-pins and break-wires, etc.

Each chapter discusses booster recovery, stability, ignition, timing and motor selection as they apply to the three types of staging; as well as specific issues such as interstage couplers, mounting hardware, etc.

I'm hoping to post some pics of the cover and a couple sample pages soon.

"Vertical Trajectory Systems" was written by Steve Ainsworth. It about active guidance methods to assure vertical flight. It covers canard systems, gimballed motors, gyros, and CO2 gas systems. I don't know how many pages, but I assume it's the same length as my book.
