For all space modelers who think they don't scare easily,
have a look at this :

Boeing is building their first Delta IV HEAVY !!!!

Soon, the first inaugural flight will take place...
The ground will tremble, like in the days of Apollo.

Man, am I glad I live on the other side of the world !

Or am I ..........????

Greetings,

Erik.

P.S. 3 boosters of each 5.2 meters in diameter ( +- 17 feet ),
standing about 73 meters tall ( +- 240 feet ).
Where can I buy earplugs ??

I hope they're planning on launching more then hampsters on that thing :D

Too cool! Wish I could see that sucker launch!

I wonder why they've got it on the pad now if they aren't going to launch it until July??

They're going to be doing a lot of pad checkout tests, mating dummy payloads, fueling/defueling, etc.

What's cool is that those aren't solid strap-ons, they're the same liquid booster as in the center.

Here's one thing they are considering doing with the heavy...

Yeeaahhhh ...!! ;-)

Isn't that beautiful ???

You know what ??? It's already on the drawing board !!!! =-D

Greetings,

Erik.

It is a beauty isn't it!
But only if it augments the Shuttle rather than replaces it.
It looks to be more of a space taxi than a space truck.
I would sure love to see it fly anyway!

Does it make sense to anyone else that if they can strap on two Common Core Boosters to the outside of the central one, they could strap on four, or six? A seven CCB Delta IV... we'd feel that in Vancouver. :D

what a beast!!!.....that thing must be better to see than the space shuttle.

bet it still doesnt rival the good old Saturn V
