The 2020 Schedule for the Tripoli East NC group has been discussed and set. The schedule is subject to change, of course, so always check the club website ncrockets.org before making final plans.

Research motors permitted?

I cannot imagine Alan flying anywhere he couldn’t fly research...!

Oh yes! Tripoli Research rules in effect at all Bayboro events. There is nothing to prevent us from flying research motors at Butner, but we would be limited to G or smaller motors, the total on-pad weight would be limited to 1500 g or less, and the table of safe distances will push the launch pads at least 100 ft closer to the encircling trees. It's probably not going to happen, but if you really want to do it, notify me early so we can find some way to run the controller cables 100 ft farther away.
In the interest of full disclosure, I DID fly a commercial motor on November 9 of this year, the first commercial motor I have flown since July of 2014. It was an ESTES C6. Wowza!!

Proof that even a C can be a great flight! Thanks for the schedule. We are going to try to make one this year.
