Its a great competition and challenging. Every year if the competition is won they change it up and make it a little more difficult or different. My University team competed in it for the first several years.
 
If our rocket requires a motor that has more than 640N-sec of total impulse, would an adult mentor be allowed to handle the motor and place it into the rocket since under 18s can get L2 certs and therefore can't get motors with more than 640 N-sec TI?

Confirm with contest directors, but I'd imagine so. Nasa Student Launch works the same way for the higschool teams
