Is that a glass nosecone?
Is that a glass nosecone?
Not glass but a plastic champagne glass with the stem cut off and filed down smooth. It's a really easy and inexpensive way to get a nose cone. And I usually paint it, but this time I placed a blinking LED inside. Looks pretty cool ON takeoff and helps me see the rocket after chute opens.
Phew! I keep looking for plastic champagne flutes, but no luck so far. May need to just order some

This 42" rocket reached a great altitude using a Estes F-19 motor.
Parachute opened perfectly and landed with grace.
