Can barometric sensors handle the high pressure of a black powder ejection event? I realize altimeters are typically in an Av bay, somewhat isolated from the parachute bay where the charge is. However in the description for the Eggtimer Ion, @cerving says you can simply wrap it in a nomex burrito and attach it to the shock cord along with the parachute. Unless I'm misinterpreting something, that would place it in the main chute bay and expose it to the pressure blast of the main chute ejection charge.

Is that type of pressure within allowable range for a typical baro sensor?

The MS5611-01BA03 has an overpressure rating of 6 bar
The BMP 180 - " " " " 10 bar
The MS5540C - " " " " 10 bar

All are well over the typical chamber pressures for deployment (0.5 - 1.5 bar IIRC). Some of them might need some additional protection from the corrosive gases perhaps.

maybe deal with the pressure, but the corrosive gases are problematic.
Beyond that, it would be a rough ride. How do you keep all the electrical connections good?
Not to mention that rough ride may damage either the board or some of it's components.

I think this is a possible, but not practical option. It's too easy to add a ebay and avoid all of these things.
