Use a single wire between the 2 connections on the "male" clip. Use the "female" connector as the "keyslot" in the launch circuit.
 
I would not recommend using a banana type connector as an interlock. I'ts designed to stay connected. It also lends it self, depending on the type of binding post, to a permanent not very visible override.

What do you recommend?
 
Best is any sort of key switch.

Barring that a momentary button so that in order to launch, both buttons need to be pressed.

This happens to be what I use on my system. Very simple to wire up and no key to lose/search for. ;)
