I have an LOC Iris 3” that I am repairing after a H motor burn-thru and explosion that totaled the mid body of the airframe. I was able to save the fin can and the motor mount is ok. The payload and NC went over yonder and was saved (FW GPS Tracker and RunCam 4K still operating when I walked to it!).

I’m adding a long 3” mid body tube, thus making the rocket 75” in length. I want to install the LOC baffle. Will the motor ejection charge (H or I) be enough to get the drought and chute out? (Dual deployment).

I will RockSim the design but wanted some input from y’all.

Here comes the standard TRF answer, ground test.

I've never used motor ejection with DD, but once you determine what size charges you need for the DD, that should apply to the motor ejection also.

How large of volume will the motor eject have to pressurize? The AT HPR reloads usually come with 1.4 cc of FFFFg powder.
