Avatar 101 -- need the Cliff's Notes

Folks:

Went to deviantart and another site -- got totally lost and confused (maybe it was dazed and confused ...)

Anyway. Is there software in the download area that I can get to just make a 50X50 pixel file from a readily available JPEG, like one of my gazillion digital pics?

I found a cool animated GIF of a rocket, but it was 52X40 ..., and I was sure there was no way to scale this one down.

Thanks in advance -- I'm pretty lost!

You can use most any photo editing/paint program to resample/ resize an image. Paintshop is available as shareware if I remember right. Also, I haven't used Window's graphic editor for a long time I don't know if it handles gifs/jpgs now or not.

Or, you could email it to me, I'll resize it, and I'll send it back.
