The last two I've clear coated have had this happen. The first I blew off as having gloss coated it before the paint cured. This second one was painted a year ago...I used Rust-Oleum clear gloss on both. In fifty years I''ve never seen this...is it the paint? If it's anything like the first one, the wrinkles will shrink, but still an alligator skin like flaw. I have a Mercury Redstone I'm getting ready to build, I would not be happy if it happened to that one.IMG_20211118_210849862.jpg

When I get a chance to start painting rockets again (I'm currently in China, and access to desired paint products is frustratingly limited), my hope for clear coating is to use whatever Future Floor Finish is calling itself these days. Presuming I can't find it, or I have a need for a clear (flat) finish, I would test my painting methods/products on a sample that doesn't risk a nearly finished model
