I want to attach a GPS tracker in a Labrat sled to a nose cone. Do I attached it directly or should I add a tether to the GPS then attach to the nose cone?

Attach it directly. A backup tether is okay, but it’s best to have the GPS receiver not loose in the nosecone.
Perhaps a little more detail! Which LabRat sled are you using? Is it the one that installs inside a nosecone bay, or is it intended as an external sled?
I will be using the shock cord mounting system.

These NC bay kits are great. I have them installed in all my MP & HP NCs. I do use use the LabRat sleds with them for my EF & FW trackers, though.
Thx to all for the quick response. Yes, I do have a Performance Nosecone bay and the sled which I can attached a GPS tracker.
As for the Labrat sled, this is going to be used on a headend deployment rocket. Since there is no room in the nose cone, I will attach the labrat sled directly to the av bay.

I would love one of these for my fiberglass Jart. Sadly they don't make one for a 2.12" cone.
The LabRat sled for EggFinder Mini Tx fits a 29mm tube. I have one in a 1.9” Aerotech cone with room to spare.
This is what I do, except in this picture the eggfinder is not yet attached.
