I found these instructions on the AT website but I'm not sure which ones to use for the J350W. I know it requires a 38mm x 720 case.

Which set of instruction do I use, and how do I tell?

Thank you

Looks correct to me as well, that instruction set is designed to cover several different motors.

The instructions state in two places that I need an "enlarged aft closure" for the J350W.

How do I tell if my aft closure is enlarged?

The part number is shown as 38 AC2.

Thank you.

Found this online, don't know how correct it is though.

All HW is shipped with the enlarged closure these days..
To see what you've got, grab a nickel and a dime.. If the hole for the nozzle
is the size of a dime, it's the Standard (old) but if it's the size of a nickel,
it's the enlarged (new). The enlarged should work with all current reloads...

And:
Regular closures should have a hole just over 5/8" diameter, large hole
closures just over 13/16" (About .635" and .820")

I believe it was the late 90's when the small aft closure was phased out; something like that....

Here is what I got, I'll have to measure it when I can get to it...

Thanks for the info

Dude, just see if the noozle will fit in the hole. If not, just drill it out. What's so complicated? No measurements needed. Judging by the pics, you have the right one.

That's a newer motor, so yes, it has the correct aft closure. Same one I used for my L2.

You're good to go. Provided the seal disc came with the hardware from AT, I believe the seal disk was post enlarged aft closure anyhow, so more evidence....

Jim,

I don't have the motor yet, I'm gonna get it from Ken next time I'm in Camden. I was actually hoping you might observe me assembling the motor before my L2 cert flight???? Any chance of talking you into that happening???
