A customer asked me "Why didn't you just put Blue Tube on sale instead vs. opening up your whole webstore to free shipping?"
Well the answer is simple.. I sell to dealers and I sell direct. It would be horriffically bad business to discount or compete against the very dealers I sell to.. So, instead dealers have the opportunity to place a dealer order for better pricing than what they would normally get, and they can run their businesses however they see fit, as most of them have been doing this for longer than I have anyway. It's out of respect. Rocketry is a small marketplace, we all kind of know everyone and doing anything else would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth.
The only exceptions I make to this rule is if someone is doing a high profile cert flight and there is opportunity for advertisement. Then, I'll subsidize some of the materials for their L3 or whatever in exchange for them promoting the product, but that's about it.
