This Ares I rocket and LUT was built using a 1:288 paper kit scale up 4x.I flew it recently and it performed well until its clear plastic fins sheered off. Test flight #2 is pending.

This is my rendition of the Ares II / Direct SDLV. It was kitbashed from various paper kits, such as the LHVCC Saturn V, space shuttle stack, Little Joe III, and Fiddlersgreen space shuttle. It can either fly with a single engine (1 18mm engine) or triple engine configuration (1 18mm with two A10-pt plugged rocket car motors). I'll add fins some time.

Welcome to the Forum Atlantis v2.0!!

I looked over your website, and I must say you have been busy down in middle Alabama...very nice card model work!!

I take it that the pictured gantry is all card stock as well?

Great job, looking forward to launch pictures.

If you can make it to a launch in January, this group is holding a Two-day event in Childersburg:

Announcement here:

There will be some insane flights done at that launch...

Welcome to the forum! That's some really nice work you did. Did you fly the Ares I from the gantry?
