John - I'm building a Squirrel Works Arapahoe E. I have questions.
(1) What color blue is that on the nose, one fin, and the other two fin tips?
(2) How many black bars are on each strake? 3 or 4?
(3) How wide is the black band at the top of the body tube?

I've seen other Arapahoe Es on TRF - red, green, I think even a gold one. Your blue one came first.
Thank you.
Bob

I have an original Thrustline kits. The band at the forward end of mine is 3/4in. On the strakes there are 3 bars (solid and 2 gaps). I used a metallic blue spray can from duplicolor but I don't have exactly what color it was.

There is a Krylon Shortcuts spray can that is about the "correct" color. Ocean Blue is what I used on mine iirc, it looks darker on Krylons website.

Let me go take a few pics. Yes...mine was the first. John sent me the lettering decal, but the rest is paint...even the thunderbird. I was going for a tribute / along the lines of the classic Estes Cherokee D. The thunderbird was inspired by the Oklahoma 45th Infantry Division patch.

This is the blue I used.

It’s about 15 yrs old now. I flew it a couple of weeks ago at the Tulsa Rocketry launch. Still flies great.

Lynn at Krylon says they still make that color. The part number is K05191007. 12 ounce spray can.

There are two other blues, Ocean Blue and Forever Blue, which are available in 1 oz Short Cuts brush-on and in 0.33 oz Paint Pens, but the color is not an exact match.

Nothing constructive to offer but that is a great looking rocket. How have I never heard of these people....

Will be buying one shortly.
Thrustline is no longer in business, but thekit is now offered by Squirrel Works Rocketry.
