Apollo Tribute L3 Certification

After a long winter we successfully launched our NAR HPR level 3 Certification rocket.



This was a scratch design/build all fiberglass bird. Ten feet tall 6 inch diameter and 45lbs fully loaded with an Aerotech M1297 motor.

She flew perfectly to 6249ft with a nice recovery on a Cert3 XL chute.

Ha! Rocket comedy! The Mad City Flyers are myself, sons Nick and Nate and wife Karen. Nick is the big one who had never been to a launch before. I sent Karen into a pond for a rocket a couple of years ago so she rarely comes to launches anymore.

I used Apple iPhoto for the stills and iMovie to put it all together.

We shoot video with a Sony HandyCam and the onboard video is from a Mobius 1080p with wide angle lens.
